OUR STORY

Early 2014 I took my holidays in Istanbul, hoping to see the world's oldest coffee house. It turned out Kiva Han had been closed. What's left, though, is its legend indelibly stamped in the national psyche. We took another chance on the country's second oldest coffee house, Kurukahveci Mahmet Efend, just a stone's throw from the Spice Market and still very much alive and well. The place exudes an air of tradition and devotion to the national obsession that's Turkish coffee, widely regarded as "Turkey's gift to the world".

People stop by to be fascinated by any-thing from the tantalising aroma to the classic coffee apparatus. On view in the showroom are grinders and all the tradi-tional paraphernalia for making coffee. Just the same, through this inaugural edition of the FABB newsletter, we're pleased to share with coffee lovers and professionals our knowledge and know-how that we've harnessed over the years. It's hoped they'll have a better conception of the art and science of coffee.

Our goal is to expedite a coffee revo-lution in Thailand through education as reflected in our articles. This newslet-ter is the FABB team's priceless gift to Thailand's coffee world. Let's enjoy the taste of, and tips on, coffee!
